MAHELLO User Guide
MAHELLO Is A Neighborhood-first Network: See What Neighbors Share, Join Local Events, Browse Listings, Explore The Map, And Message Each Other — Without Exposing Your Exact Address.
What MAHELLO Is For
The home feed shows posts, announcements, and moments from people near you. You can react, comment, and open a thread to stay in the loop.
Your profile shows your display name and neighborhood label — not your street address. Pick a map location when posting so neighbors understand the area while you stay in control of privacy.
The Three “Create” Colors
The floating action button and side menu change color depending on where you are in the app. Same idea everywhere: blue for neighborhood posts, orange for events, green for listings.
Use Share / “Post something” for general neighborhood posts: announcements, help requests, lost pet tips, or urgent notices. Add text, optional photos (including multi-photo), and place the pin on the map so the right neighbors see it.
Neighborhood Post
When you are under Events, the action turns orange. Create a title, time, description, and optional cover image. Neighbors can see what’s coming up and join the conversation on the event page.
Local Event
Under Listings, the action is green. Sell, give away, or swap items with neighbors. Add clear photos, price or “free”, and prefer public meeting spots when handing something over.
Neighbor Listing
Floating + Button
On mobile, the center + opens the composer for the current area (feed → post, events → new event, listings → new listing). On desktop, the same shortcuts live in the side rail.
Quick Access
Home Page Layout
At the top you’ll see the neighborhood pulse card with a short intro and a link to this guide. Below that, upcoming events and then the live feed. Scroll to browse; tap a card to open the full post.
Back To Home FeedWriting A Post (Blue Flow)
Open Share, write at least the minimum length, choose a category (announcement, help, danger alert, lost pet), set location on the map, and attach images if useful. After publishing, your post appears in the feed and can show on the map depending on filters.
Events (Orange Flow)
Browse the events list for dates near you. Organizers can create events with cover art and details. Open an event to read more; use share tools where available to invite neighbors.
Listings (Green Flow)
Listings are for goods and small services between neighbors. Create a listing with photos and an honest description. Edit or remove your listing from its detail page when it is sold or no longer available.
Map & Discover
The map shows neighborhood boundaries and posts as pins. Use filters to focus on categories, and try the density layer if you want a heat-style overview. Discover groups shortcuts to feed, map, listings, and events.

Profile, Messages & Inbox
Your profile is the place for avatar, bio, and neighborhood context. Messages are for direct chats with neighbors who accept conversation. Inbox/notifications keep you updated on activity that concerns you.
Search. Use search to jump to people, posts, or other indexed content depending on what the deployment exposes. Results respect your locale and community visibility rules.
